Model Material:
The Next Step
This eight-week class builds on the social skills, personal style and etiquette lessons you learned in Model Behavior. In Model Material, you will learn what successful models must do behind the scenes and in front of the camera. You also will continue work on your interviewing and public speaking skills. Classes are two hours each week for a total of 16 instructional hours in each course.
If you have model potential, this class is the logical next step toward a career in the fashion industry. If your physical gifts and career aspirations lie elsewhere, you will benefit by developing the image and confidence you need to be successful in any pursuit.
Model Material is highly interactive. Students will learn:
- professional runway techniques
- professional photography movement
- professional hand positions for interviewing or modeling
- catalogue and editorial modeling
- make-up for daytime and the runway
- creative wardrobing
- interviewing savvy
- packing the perfect tote for travel or a modeling assignment
- improvisation.
Schedule
Summer Intensives 2010
Ages 7–12 and 13 and up.
June 21–25, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
July 19–23, 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 2:30 p.m.
One-and-one-half hour sessions for preteens.
Three-hour sessions for teens and older.
Intensives are designed to give students the full Model Material experience in one week!
